The Worried Side-Eye Of Impending Doom

If that isn’t a “Damn, is he checking out my possible replacement?” look, then I don’t know what is. Backstage at the Emmys last night, Elisabetta Canalis threw the same side-eye Sarah Larson probably gave right before George Clooney’s assistant dropped a pink slip and an empty cardboard box into her lap. The photo bomber in the back feels the tension.

That side-eye is the final snooze in the “Your Time With George Clooney Is Ending” alarm. That is Elisabetta’s cue to gather up all the juicy shit she has on George (examples: strap-ons covered with his ass dust, the framed photo of Brad Pitt he keeps on his vanity, etc…) to use against him when he tries to evict her from his life without a cut of his Facts of Life royalties!

Oh, my finger tips are covered in bitterness as usual. This isn’t going to happen to Elisabetta. I mean, it’s obvious that they’re happier than a wet pussy (see last thumbnail)! Well, at least he looks happy.

Sandra Bullock arrived at New Orleans’s Warren Easton Charter High School yesterday ready to cut the ceremonial ribbon at the new campus health clinic she helped fund. Much like Brad Pitt and his work with his Make It Right foundation, Sandra is dedicated to helping the Louisiana city as they move forward five years after Hurricane Katrina. While in NOLA, Sandra found time to chat with Matt Lauer - it’s her first televised interview, scheduled to air tomorrow on The Today Show, since announcing the adoption of her son, Louis, and divorcing Jesse James earlier this year. Despite all the upheaval, Sandra still considers herself to be a lucky person. She spoke to Matt about Louis’s adoption, saying, “Everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out. We had always said that it didn’t matter where the child came from. If they had issues that were medical issues, we didn’t care. It’s like the child that needed us in the home is the child that’s going to be placed.”

Brad Pitt Talks About What He Loves About New Orleans

2010.08.30

Brad Pitt sounds like he’s genuinely fallen in love with the city of New Orleans! He shared some of the things he’s come to like about the city since getting involved in helping the community after Hurricane Katrina.

“We used to eat a lot at the Verti Marte,” Pitt tells the Times-Picayune. “A little bitty market with great shrimp po-boys that I couldn’t get enough of. It recently had a fire problem. But after that, we like Irene’s a lot. Antoine’s and the Windsor Court. There are so many. But in general, shrimp po-boys. I order them everywhere.”

Po-boys are some great sandwiches :) More than that, though, the actor seems to enjoy being part of the community.

“In New Orleans, the people are great,” he says. “We can just live and breathe and ride bikes. We can take our kids on bike rides, and local people just give us a shout-out – and let us move on. … Everybody treats us like neighbors.”

He also said he liked the music and, of course, the New Orleans’ Saints football team :)

The action in LA moved last night from the stage at the Emmys on to the press room, where the big winners showed off their new gold. Humanitarian honoree George Clooney led the pack by speaking about Brad Pitt’s equally good deeds, and Tom Hanks toasted his HBO miniseries The Pacific. Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, meanwhile, had dual wins for Breaking Bad. An excited Aaron gushed about the surprise, saying he lost his mind due to the shock. Nurse Jackie’s Edie Falco, who was declared Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, still maintained that she’s not even funny. The ensemble cast of Mad Men was led by January Jones, the adorable young actress Kiernan Shipka, Christina Hendricks, and Elisabeth Moss. Their series’s creator, Matthew Weiner, said a few words and assured fans their show isn’t going anywhere just yet.

Eric Stonestreet celebrated with the Modern Family gang and commented that it won’t be weird on set after he picked up a Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy nod over two of his costars. Claire Danes was solo on stage to gush about her win for Temple Grandin. The stars were soon off to make the afterparty rounds, so stay tuned to get the inside scoop from across Hollywood! Also, make sure to check in on the evening’s best beauty and fashion looks with Bella and Fab’s love it or hate it polls.

Jake Gyllenhaal debuted some serious scruff as he left a friend’s LA home on Saturday! He’s had time to let his facial hair grow this Summer, ever since his Prince of Persia press tour ended in May. His hot body, though, is still in top form - Jake’s been fitting in regular workouts and even a yoga class that he attended with Rachel Bilson. At this time last year, Jake was all about spending sweet time with Reese Witherspoon. The pair is no longer together, but they still have an important cause in common. He proudly shows his support for Stand Up 2 Cancer, and she’s front and center in the organization’s current PSA.

Bringing an end to her brief stay in the Big Easy, Angelina Jolie was spotted prepping for an out of town flight in New Orleans on Friday (August 27).

The “Salt” actress was chauffeured from her Louisiana abode to a local airport as she boarded a private jet with her brood of kiddies nowhere in sight.

While Ang was busy with her jet-setting ways, partner Brad Pitt partook in an interview with NBC news anchor Brian Williams in the ‘Lower 9th Ward’ section of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Remembering the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the “Fight Club” stud said, “It was unfathomable. I mean, just– you had no idea that there were families and here. It was just wiped clean. Except for the occasional pile up of homes and– on top of homes.”

Currently trying to help the rebuilding effort with his Make It Right charity efforts, Pitt added, “I mean, people’s– people build their lives here. And– and– I mean, New Orleans is a unique place to begin with. And I say– a cultural treasure trove for– for America to begin with. But the thing that struck me was that these people were trying to– you know, these people were trying to get home. And– and were having a very difficult time doing so. And as I got into and started studying it.”
